About Ready Hand

Know your points.

What it does

Take a photo of your hand. Ready Hand reads the tiles, tells you whether it's ready or scores a complete hand, and shows what counted — and what didn't.

It shows its work. Mahjong players tend to have opinions. Your table rules get the last word.

Rules

Ready Hand currently supports Chinese Official (MCR): 81 fan, an 8-point minimum, and the non-repeat principle.

Other rulesets will produce creative results.

Your photos

Photos are cropped on your device, then sent for tile recognition. Some may be kept to make recognition better.

No account. No name. No location. No IP address stored.

Got it wrong?

Wrong tiles: recognition bug.

Right tiles, wrong score: scoring bug. Slightly more embarrassing.

Reports include the hand and result automatically. Nothing to retype.

Why it exists

Built to spread the fun — and so its developer can teach mahjong without feeling like an impostor.

Who memorizes all 81 fans?

Use it to learn. Use it to teach. Or use it to be petty at the table and settle who really had the upper hand.
